When a three-phase alternating current is applied to the windings, the rotating rotor creates torque and rotational force.

The resulting mechanical energy can then be converted to electrical energy to run lights, appliances, or other devices.

The most common type of AC motors used in household equipment are split phase, single speed induction motors.

What Is a Brushless Motor?

An AC motor is a type of electric motor that runs off alternating current. This means that the electricity comes into the motor in short bursts rather than in one continuous flow. Why Do AC Motors Use Brushes?

How Does an AC Motor with Brushes Work?
