So, in theory, if an individual with a handicap opts to rent an automobile, the rental car company benefits because they only have one less thing to pay for.
The other reason: that these custom options are being provided by so many companies is because they recognize the importance of making this type of purchase for disabled individuals. Studies have shown that those who make this purchase, have a better quality of life. They tend to be more independent. They are able to do things like go to work, go shopping, and do just about everything that any other individual could do.
How about those of us who must rely on vehicles for transportation?
These are also folks who have options available to them. For those of us who are in wheelchairs, there are many companies that have specialty vehicles that are designed just for people who use wheelchairs. Some of these vehicles are semi automobiles, station wagons, and even RVs.
There are also companies out there: who actually provide the equipment to install a wheelchair ramp onto a vehicle. In some cases, the ramp is fully customized. In other cases, it is made to fit a vehicle that already has a ramp installed. Either way, this is a great option for those who want to travel in a wheelchair.
So, don’t let the cost of transportation: to keep you from purchasing a vehicle for yourself or for someone in your family. By taking advantage of the customization options that are available, you can make a difference in your quality of life. It’s not difficult, and it doesn’t cost a lot.
